Hi, I'm Sampath Amitash Gadi 👋

I created this website (dnagenetics.info) to offer readers high quality and factually accurate information on the science behind DNA, genetics and the molecular basis of health and heritage. In addition, I will also provide information and reviews of consumer products that could help readers to sequence, analyse and test their DNA for assessment of health, paternity and heritage (ancestry).

My entire academic career has been around DNA 🧬.

First, I got interested in biology and opted to study biology, physics and chemistry for intermediate education in India.

Then, for my bachelors, I enrolled for B.Sc. in Biotechnology at Osmania University in Hyderabad, India.

The, I completed my M.Sc. in Biotechnology from the University of Mysore, India.

During my masters, I got interested in DNA research and joined the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru as a research fellow. After working for 2 years in DNA repair mechanisms, I moved to Copenhagen, Denmark 🇩🇰 to start a PhD.

I completed my Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Center for Chromosome Stability at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark in 2022 🎓.

I have since then been working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research, hosted at the University of Copenhagen 👨🏽‍🔬.

As a researcher, I work with cells and DNA every day and I am currently trying to understand, broadly speaking, how cells repair damage to their DNA during replication.

My passion for biology, specifically in DNA science has driven me to start this website as it will also help me to learn more about new and upcoming technologies based on DNA.

With the advent of personalised medicine, it is becoming increasingly easy for anyone to securely perform a DNA test to better understand their genetics and get a complete picture of their health.

By understanding the science behind DNA and genetics, one can make an informed choices on their personal health. This is where I come in, by providing all the information you need to understand DNA and the science behind it, how it determines your health and well-being, etc.
